We have an immediate need for a Procurement Specialist in our Brooklyn Park Facility. 

 

Salary:  $35/hr to $40/hr

Travel: N/A

On-Site Role 

 

The Procurement Specialist provides purchasing support for production by ensuring all required materials are procured in a timely and cost-effective manner.  This position is responsible for ensuring the entire purchasing process operates efficiently and effectively, meeting customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for water treatment tanks and components to meet production needs.
  • Create RFQ packages by marking up drawings and reviewing specifications, then send them to fabrication shops and evaluate quotes for scope and compliance with customer requirements.
  • Generate and manage fabrication purchase orders, ensuring ERP accuracy for contractual milestones, cost and requirements.
  • Prepare and review weekly procurement reports, tracking metrics such as timelines, cost variances, and vendor compliance to ensure project milestones are met. Hold vendors accountable to meeting PO requirements.
  • Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable pricing and terms.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring adherence to quality standards and delivery schedules.
  • Forecast, recognize and track expected revenue goal milestones for projects, accurately entering them into our ERP system for financial tracking and reporting.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, production, accounts payable and inspection, to promptly address and resolve any issues.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within each project.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in procurement practices to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Performs special projects/duties as assigned by Director of Municipal Production

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or at least 5 years of experience in a Manufacturing Purchasing role or a related field.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and understanding manufacturing drawings, and the ability to address inquiries from suppliers.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively manage and sustain supplier relationships.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
  • Proficiency in utilizing procurement software and tools to streamline purchasing activities.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to identify cost-saving opportunities and resolve supply chain challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently.
